I agree; I have heard that as well, everytime you charge your IPOD the battery somehow dies slowly. I think you have to go to IPOD's Customer service they talk about it; one more thing I heard this is fixable so dont worry :) I just dont know how much itd take to get it done.

Please check this FORUM is the largest about IPODS. You will find your answer or even try opening a thread they'll answer in a matter of time.

Good Luck! :)

If you have the light on and are contantly changing the songs it will not last as long but if you were to play your songs without changing them then it should work for the full 8 hours. Try turning off the light, not adjusting the volume, or changing the songs!! Hope this helps!!

It depends on how long you've had it. The batteries do eventually die.

It needs to be cycled; that is, allowed to run completely empty, then filled completely full.

let it drain completely then give full charge. That should reset the "memory" in the battery. If that doesn't work go to apple store if warrantied.

i *heard* that after a while, rechargable batteries will die after a while. it matters how long you had it for.
