The Mets are in desperate need of starting pitchers. Acquiring Tomo Ohka, Jeff Suppan or Barry Zito I think will give them some peace of mind. However, I very much prefer Barry Zito. Not to undermine Ohka or Suppan, but Zito stands out between the three. Look at Zito' s ERA, the awards that he's got and all his other achievements. Plus, he's the youngest of the three so the Mets will probably get more out of him (although, this isn't the case with Glavine). Personality matters of course because it affects the chemistry between the players which I just love right now. Anyway, I just hope that the Mets will acquire good, reliable starting pitchers, whether it be Zito or not.

For the good of the fans, and the organisation they need a big FA pitching signing.
That would be Zito or Schmidt, the only ones that are left.
It looks like Glavine could be going back to Atlanta, so Zito would probably be a better idea, plus he will be better in the NL

Right now there are two guys on my wish list....the first of course is Zito..no doubt they will over pay for him but to get a guy who is entering his prime I think it's worth it.The second guy I would like to see them sign is 2nd basemen Mark Loretta.I would really like to see Lugo here but I think he's going to go to a team where he can play SS.So I think Loretta would be a nice fit and he already knows the NL pitchers..he's a solid player...I also wouldn't mind if they went after Mark Mulder,I know he is coming back from injury but I think if you hook him back up with Peterson who he had his best years under he could be a valuable # 4 starter for the mets....

Pitching is a must , Zito and a couple of relievers. They picked up Alou, he is just as injury prone as Floyd. Minya is not having as good an off season as last year I think it is fair to say.
