We actually don't, although we're depicited as such in many films and television shows. It's called "stereotyping."

I am gay and I have a normal voice but trust me I have asked the same question. Some of my friends have told me that they make their voices high like that because that is what they are expected to do. So most of them seem to have a high voice to try and fit into a culture.

Most gay men do not have high-pitched voices. This is a stereotype and a generalization. Of course, some do. Some straight men have high-pitched voices also. So do some women.
What is your point, other than showing your ignorance?

Goes to show how many gay guys you know. Not all gay guys have high pitched vioces. Maybe only the ones you know have high pitched voices.

Its only that the gay guys who DO have high-pitched voices are the ones you notice. You fail to notice the millions of normally-pitched-voiced gay men...

we don't just some do. just like some women have low voices. as far as my voice i think it's to low. i don't know anyone who can get their voice as low as mine is

It is advertising. They are simply trying to show their 'feminine side' in order to attract another gay who wants a male but feminine partner. It is like a ship that waves a flag to tell other ships its nationality, the squeak toys want someone who wants a squeak toy, to toy with.
