I need to take a humanities course next quarter and I have never taken a humanities course. The courses all sound the same to me and I honestly don't know which one to take. Also it is my first college course. It would help me a lot to know which class is better to take because I don't want to end up having a bad quarter...

I majored in Child Development. I don't do much with it now, but it does come in handy every now and again with my own children. You learn about how children develop ie: average age they begin to walk, talk, etc.

take Film. I am taking Art History for my humanities, and it is lot of memorization. Music-you get evaluated based on listening the songs and recognizing them. And Child Development sounds like a cool class, but not sure what field you are in...so it might be boring if you don't like that kind of thing--it involves child behavior, sociology,etc...

What do you like more? Listening to music, going to the movies, going to fine art museums and other cultural art exhibits, or playing with kids?

Pick what you're interested in already and want to know more about, or else you will be hating it and won't go after a while.

world music. i'm a musician myself and can never get sick of music.
i don't know how anyone could and you learn many things you never knew about music.
that the one i would go with.
