I've never served, but I've been summoned twice. The first time I was away at college so I didn't have to do it. The second time the state of South Carolina sent a notice but I had changed my residency back to Ohio several months earlier. I was actually volunteering in Africa at the time! My mom took care of it for me when the notice arrived in her mail. I think it's funny that a state I no longer lived in called me for jury duty!

I have served twice... I have noticed (by talking to people in the jury pool) that the supposed "random" selection really is not random at all... computers do select people but it has been proven that "random generators" in computers do favor certain numbers/outcomes so it seems that once selected you have a higher chance of being selected again...

Make sure you are registered to vote as that puts you in the pool of people...

About every other year, last time I was chosen as a juror, the trial lasted 3 days. Very interesting and I actually learned a few things about the court system. Your turn is coming...............
