i think the best way im gonna be able to describe it, is sort of a burning feeling, its not all the time, but i noticed it yesterday. it sort of comes and goes through the day, its not overly bad either, just 'there'. ive looked in a mirror and everything looks normal, maybe slightly redder, but nothing else. no abnormal discharge or anything like that either... and ive not had unprotected sex or anything..

anyone got any ideas to what this could be?

ive not had this before, and maybe itll just go away, i dont know??

Get checked out by your GP first. It could be something like thrush or the start of cystitis but best get checked properly. If you daren't see your GP then visit the STD clinic at your local hospital.

Well it doesn't sound like an infection and usually if it were an infection you would expect other symptoms like discharge or an offensive smell. Also you don't say that you are passing urine more frequently or that it is painful when you urinate so cystitus doesn't sound like the most likely candidate.
You don't say how old you are.Could it be due to a lack of oestrgon causing your mucosa to dry out? This would certainly cause a burning sensation. Also have you changed your washing powder, soap or bubble bath recently? If you have it could simply be an allergic reaction.

I am an alternative medicinal therapist and i have a few patients with this problem. What colour is your urine, it should be a pale yellow with no offensive smell, if it is dark then you may have to much acid in your urine this would cause a burning. Drink at least 2 litres of water a day. Sometimes it may be a warning of impending cystitis so drink cranberry juice as well.Try some aloe vera cream as well

It could be a uti (Uterine tract infection), just wait and if it gets worse see a doctor. When i have them i usually just drink cranberry juice or take cranberry pills and its gone by the next day.

When you say "down there" you need to mention the body part. Did you mean your labia or did you mean inside your vagina or did you mean in your urethra? You need to be more specific as to where the burning was and was it internal or external?

Get some Canesten and see if it goes away. If it doesn't, go to the docs.

you should go to your doctor. it could be nothing or it could be something that needs medicine. the longer you put it off it could get worse.
