I'm 18 and I was wondering if there are any people around my age who are mostly into old music?

I'm talking from the days of Bessie Smith on up to the days of Billie Holiday and Ella fitzgerald up to the days of Sam Cooke and Marvin gaye to the days of Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix. Joe Cocker, Tina Turner, Diana Ross, Lynard Skynard, all this old music. I like some of today's stuff, but I really admire all the old stuff. My interest really stops at the mid-90s.

Music is ageless and crosses barriers of time and taste. That's what makes it so magical. You have quite excellent taste, too!

I sing and play guitar in a local band ...the music I do is the 'old folks' stuff....Patsy Cline, Karen Carpenter, Diana Ross, Anne Murray, Janis Joplin, Brenda Lee, Jesse Colter just to name a few!

My granddaughter is 15 and has been exposed to music from the 1930's to present time. She loves all the eras, but I hear her listening alot to 40's swing. I'm proud of her ability to expand her mind and hear all kinds of music. I did the same thing with my own daughters when they were growing up. So you go for it sweetie and enjoy the music!

it's good to know good taste comes in different ages. Your interest stops right about the same time music began to suck. What they try to sell us now, with a few exceptions (John Mayer comes to my mind) is just commercial synthetized crap.
