Ok, so they are going to re check you right? I would hope so. First there are so many false positives and so many false negatives with any screening test. That is what a pap is. So, ask if it was dysplasia? If so, ask to have it repeated in 3 mos. A lot of times it is the HPV virus which is just coming to the attention of the public after many yrs. of the Health community knowing about it. The only way to tell if you have it is a pap and then they do a vinegar test. You may want to ask about that. The abnormal pap means there is c hanges in the cells of the cervix. Now a lot of times this clears up all by itself. Other times it can change to pre-cancereous cells and that's when they will do the cyro surgery that almost half the women in my life have had. So, It's worrisome but, not to the poing of panic. Ask the questions. Follow through and get taken care of. They go in and remove the abnormal cells and most women are fine and have no problems. OK? Just make sure to follow up and don't let it go. Stick to the plan and get taken care of. Love is coming your way. My daughter had it, my sister-in-law, my two nieces, friends. I pray your next pap is normal and you have no problems, that has happened also.

hi, I had severe dyskaryosis on my smear try (degree 3) So I had to flow directly to wellness facility for therapy. i became aggravating because of the fact at 32 years old I had no longer had a smear for over 8 years. The therapy lasted approximately 20 minutes the place they placed a answer on the cervix (to learn the ordinary cells) then inject with something to numb it and scrape off the undesirable cells (i had a loop). It incredibly wasn't that undesirable, and now I ought to flow to the wellness facility for my smears basically incase. With mild dyskaryosis, the probabilities are high that it may desire to have thoroughly disappeared on your next smear, and if no longer the worst which will take place is what I had achieved to me. you do no longer and could no longer get cervical maximum cancers because of the fact they're monitoring you. i comprehend its extraordinary to get a standard result yet i will assure you, which you're and could proceed to be to be secure.

An abnormal smear is nothing to get all worked up about. Talk to your GYN and ask specific questions concerning the smear. They usually retake the smear in anywhere from 3 to 6 months from now.

First of all stop worrying. When I was in my 20's I had several tests resulting in 'abnormal'. If you are under stress, a bit of colour or have taken medication (ie, headache, cold etc), all of these will show in your test. If your abnormalities were serious your doctor will call you back. You can always ask for another test in a months time to put your mind at ease.

I have...I had my 1st one when I was 24 and a second when I was 25. Same situation as yours. I used to socially smoke, so not that often, but I stopped doing that altogether and started eating a lot of broccoli! My dr. told me to eat lots of broccoli and to take lots of vitamins, but I am bad at swallowing pills, so I just eat insane amounts of broccoli and it seems to have helped! I have also changed my diet and exercised a lot more.
