make sure everyone calls her Rebecca, or if you like it..Becca. I dont like Becky either. But as long as you keep calling her what you want and tell everyone then they will do that. I named my son Samuel not wanting anyone to call him Sam and he is now 7 and no one is calling him Sam. If he wants that when he gets older, fine, but for now Its Samuel. I love the name Rebecca.

Go with Rebecca if you trully like it. Just call her Rebecca all the time and she will prefer it and others will get used to calling her that.
Of course, somewhere down the line someone WILL call her Becky. (Personally, I love the nickname, as it belongs to my older sister who is a very loving person. My sister always introduces herself to other people as Rebecca, I personally feel weird calling her that.) If you can accept that someone WILL call her Becky, than give her that name.
You can also give her Rebecca as a middle name.

I haven't read through the other responses so I am sorry if I repeat.
You could always do the nickname Becca which is cute. My cousin is named Rebecca and we call her by her full name.
Some other names that are beautiful and along the same lines as Rebecca:
Rachel
Abigail
Meredith
Carlyn
Lillian
Lydia
Madalyn
Alyssa
Brooklyn
Alexandra
Danielle
Lauren
Juliette
Taylor
Nataleigh

Congrats on your new daughter!

Why don't you use the Hebrew/Jewish spelling of Rebecca -
Rebekah
(prounounced the same)
Nickname would be Bek
Or you could drop the h on the end of Rebekah - Rebeka?
The choice is yours.
My name is Astrid, I think it's beautiful, it suits me and isn't common... why don't you google it?
Good luck :)
