yeah, a playoff system would definitely be better than the BCS. One of the big objections to doing away w/ the BCS would be the history behind all the bowl games. so why not name the different playoff games for the bowl games. that's the best option ;)

"nah bowls are more fun, and people would complain just as much if there was a playoff system."
BS. Bowls are more fun? Yeah , a hypothetical Southern Miss - Northern Alabama bowl is going to be real fun! Seriously , no one outside of those states gives a CRAP about minor bowls...and people would complain less if there was a playoff system , genius. At least 8 teams would compete for the national championship instead of 2 that were selected by a computer. I seriously hope you were being sarcastic when you made that comment because if you weren't...
Anyways , the best way is a 16-team playoff. I made a post about this earlier today and heard some comments about "There's not enough time for that!". This is nonsense. After the season ends this week , there are about 2 months to go. There's plenty of time for a playoff...John Feinstein once said on the radio that a college National Championship game could be scheduled for the week between the NFC Championship and the Super bowl. I don't know why teams right now have 3 , sometimes 4 weeks of rest before a bowl. What kind of ignorant crap is that? God...college football's postseason can be purely idiotic at times.

No you would not like to see a playoff. The teams in the Big East do not play at the same level as the SEC, Big 12, and the other power conferences. The current system is the only one that would give you a shot at the title game.

Should Michigan play OSU again? If USC loses then who is #2? Ive got an idea, settle it on the field, take the 12th game out and add a playoff of 8-12 teams. If 8 take the winners of the 6 power conferences, and 2 at larges (low level conference, or independant will get one if high enough.

i think a playoff system would be better then the bcs a playoff system would silence everybody due to the fact that the best team will win and therefore nobody can dispute which two teams should've been playing for the national title game

They could start small. 4 team play-off would be fine. It would only add another week to the season. The play-off games, could still be bowl games, so the schools and bowls don't loose any of that money.
