I have never heard of any great numbers of Northerners fighting for the South during the American Civil War although every Southern State, with the exception of South Carolina, of the Confederacy each contributed at least a regiment of troops who fought for the Union. Not something that is bragged about in Georgia today but true all the same. The South was far more divided on the question of secession than is often appreciated today.

Also, fairly large numbers of Confederates who were captured during the fighting decided taker a loyalty oath and change sides. They were known as "Galvanized Yankees" and were mostly employed by the Union for fighting Indian tribes in the Northwest. Ex Confederate soldiers, or Galvanized Yankees, were instrumental in rescuing the citizens of Minnesota during the Sioux uprising known as the Minnesota Massacre.

There were a few Northern born generals who sided with the South, Joe Pemberton comes immediately to mind, but they were few and far between, as well as a lower quality of soldier, compared to the Southern generals, George H. Thomas as an example, who fought for the Union.

Those from either side who fought for the other were probably best known as traitors to their fellows but there were far more from the South who crossed that line than from the North.

It is possible that northerners who fought for the Confederacy were called Copperheads, but I don't think so. Strictly speaking, Copperheads were northern Democrats who opposed the war, although they generally favored the Union. Some went so far as to encourage Union soldiers to desert, and some even worked with Southern agents. They saw the Republicans, and Lincoln in particular, as being tyrannical and undermining American democratic values.

I may be wrong, but I don't think there was a specific name for northerners fighting for the Confederacy, just as there was no name, that I am aware of, for southerners fighting for the Union, although there was at least one regiment's worth of men from each of the Confederate states that fought for the North.
