yeah, like dj havok said, "F" em.
if you have a problem with a word, the problem is in your head. Words only have a meaning when we give them a meaning.
We could call them "Bleeblahs" if we wanted, but no one would know what we were talking about. You know why? Because they are midgets, not "bleeblahs." If someone has a problem with the word midget, the problem is in their head. There is nothing negative in my head when I use the word "midget" to describe a person that has short legs, a normal size body and a large head. If am talking about someone and I want to be politically correct, I can call him a "little person," the person I am talking to won't understand what I am talking about. So I describe them, and the person I am talking to thinks to themself "Oh, he's a midget."
And if you just use the term little person, how do you distinguish between someone who is just short, and someone who is a midget, and someone who is a dwarf? There are physical differences between these people that the term "little people" just doesn't address.
In the end, the phrase "little person" just becomes a code word for midget, when everyone really knows what you are talking about.

I don't know, I almost prefer being called a Hobbit. I am not a dwarf, I am fairly proportional, they prefer the word "Achondroplasia" and they only reach about 4 feet in height. Midgets, that just conjures up images of funny little guys who tag team wrestle. So, call me a Hobbit, even though my feet aren't big and hairy. Hey M.W.A.P., I am not a runt!! I am 4 feet 9 and 3/4 inches tall!!

When we go to the auto races to see "midget" cars, do we say "vertically challenged" cars or "small" cars? No! I guess the cars are not offended.

I call them that. What else should we call them? I think vertically challenged sounds meaner.

Midget is a derogatory term that little people don't appreciate.

How about we just call them by their names....you know like Bob, or Susan, or Ebeneezer....

And quit asking mean questions.
