The red come back for a little while, every once in a blue moon, just to taunt me.

I can't play word racer anymore. All hope is lost!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had changed monitors, as the same thing happened to another monitor. I'm assuming this problem isn't related to the monitor because of this. Any suggestions?

You have already ruled out a faulty monitor. Try reinstalling your video card drivers first. Then check your video card to see that it is not overheating (there may be a cooling fan on the card going bad). If that doesn't solve the issue you will need to replace your video card. If it is on-board video, you can turn off that video and install a video card in an available expansion slot. Usually in my experience when a color goes bad it is the video card.

Find out for sure before trying a third monitor.
Usually, it is the monitor. Try tapping the top and sides of the monitor - if it changes, the monitor is probably bad.

It could also be a bad monitor cable or connector, but most cables are permanently connected to to the unit. If you are using an LCD flat monitor then the video card or computer is suspect.

IF YOU ARE NOT SURE WHAT YOU ARE DOING - CALL A PROFESSIONAL REPAIR SERVICE !!!!

Inspect the soldered connections behind the connector to the video card or motherboard inside the computer for damage due to bending/cracking. Be sure the computer and the monitor power is OFF before opening the box. Strong current can come thru the cable from the monitor even when the computer is unplugged. So disconnect the cable and unplug all devices before going inside for a look.

Also, try the monitors on another computer, many laptops have VGA connectors you could use.

You might want to try the following. Right-click on your desktop and click on properties. Click on the last tab "settings" and try changing the picture quatlity and screen resolution. You can also click on troubleshoot and follow the directions.
This is very basic. But if you already tried changing monitors, this is the next thing I would try.
