where did Leif Erickson live when he was a child?

There isn't a lot of information to go on to make this determination, really. But we can make some educated guesses, if you like.

Leif Ericson was the son of Eric the Red (thus the whole Eric-son part of his name). Eric was famous for (among other things) establishing two colonies of his own in Greenland. Indeed, the modern name of Greenland is credited to Eric, who purportedly adopted it as a sort of salesmanship to lure colonists to the area.

So it could easily be that Leif was raised among these two colonies (To quote from one source, "The date and place of Leiv Eiriksson's birth has not been definitely established, but it is believed that he grew up on Greenland."). If we believe one of the accounts, it was actually one of the colonies that he was sailing for when he mistakenly ended up finding what may have been America (he called it 'Vinland' because of the shipload of grapes he found).

Of course, Eric wasn't ALWAYS in those colonies he founded. Before that he lived in Iceland for a bit. So it may have been that Leif spent his youth in Iceland before his father was banished. Neither of the surviving accounts of Leif's life give any indication.

See, you can't go believing that Wikipedia stuff. People contribute what they think they know. Eric the Red, his father, was a Viking...this includes Norway, who claims him.

He discovered Greenland, and that is where, it is believed that his son Leif grew up.

You need to consult a real encylcopedia on this one, trust me.

Well, he's a European explorer, so could be many places. Eric the red is his dad, an explorer, so he probably was in many places growing up.
