This is what I bought for 5 bucks http://www.compusa.com/products/product_info.asp?pfp=cat3&product_code=307239&Pn=WGT624_108Mbps_Wireless_Firewall_Router And I basically need to know everything about it! LOL and I'm not kidding. I know you get the internet around the house but does one computer have to be connected to the router at all times or what...little things like that.

This is a wireless router. This is used to set up a wirless network for your home/office.

This router can connect to your DSL or cable modem and allow multiple computers to use the internet. You can set up computers on this network for file sharing without having to install CAT 5 cable throughout your house.

The router has a built in firewall which helps to keep unwanted traffic from invading your network (hackers, people using your internet connection, etc). You can set up WPA or what ever secruity you wish with a unique key. This will allow privacy on your wireless network. The software provided has a wizard which will give you easy setup for this feature.

The router gives max speed 108mps if you have a network card with (g) technology. You can hook up 4 computers to this router with CAT 5 cable if you do not have wireless network cards, however I suggest you invest a little money to go wireless.

It is important you enable a security feature after you set it up. 5 dollars is a good buy for this product.

How are you connecting the ADSL modem and the netdgear router mutually. if you're plugging contained in the ADSL MOdem to a computing gadget using USB and connecting that computing gadget to the Netgear router using Ethernet then you favor to set the computing device as a lot as share that's internet connection. it will be extra useful to purchase a netgear router which includes ADSL ethernet and instant and save the sagem as a backup gadget.

Read the docs! They came with the router! It will tell you everything that you need to know about setting it up, securing your wireless network, etc., etc.

You need to connect a computer to it directly for the initial setup but after that you don't need to leave anything connected to it except for your broadband connection.

no each computer is independent of the other, the router must remain on . You also need a wireless network card for each computer.
