you set all the equations equal to zero so
x=0

2x+1=0
2x=-1
x=-1/2

x-5=0
x=5

Let's see... if your looking for the value of x (which I assume you are), then that means 1 of those needs to equal 0, since it is already factored. So set each one to 0, and you should end up with the answer set x=0,-.5,5
