Most of us have that 'one' Christmas that comes to our recollection over and over again. Do you have one? Can you say what made it so memorable?

I've already read a couple of yours, and I love 'em! Well, except for the 'broken tree' one. Sorry about that.

Here's mine.

I was 8 years old, living in a city on the Canadian prairies. It was cold, a lot of snow... the streets were ice.

We got up at about 5:00 in the morning, opened out gifts and my 'major' gift that year was walkie-talkies, which I shared with my younger brother.

As I was upstairs, trying to talk to my brother, who was downstairs on his walkie-talkie... I picked up some other voice. It was faint, but I picked it up well enough to understand what the voice was saying.

I had picked up another kids who also got walkie talkies for Christmas.

6:00 in the morning, I got my coat and skates on, and I skated up one street and down another as the kid gave me directions on his walkie talkie...eventually finding him about four blocks away. He was there looking out his front window, still in PJ's, waving.

That's the one I always think of. :)

The Christmas that I remember as one of the best is last year.
My family had just simply stopped having Christmas together.
Both of our parents are gone on to a better world than this one
and left us at young ages. After our mother passed in 1992 we
driffted away from each other but last year my neice decided that
enough was enough and told our family that it was time to act
like we are a family and would not take no for an answer. I am
glad that she was so determined. We had a great time and we
are close to each other again. We will have a blast this year!

Mine was childhood. I have 4 siblings so under the tree was PILED with wrapped gifts and after we opened them all the whole room was littered with toys and clothes and torn gift wrapping, etc. It was great. But I suspect a lot of this memory is due to the home movies dad took of us; I'm not sure if I'd remember it this distinctly without having viewed the films many times over the years. I even remember the slipcovers on the chairs and the drapes in that room.

OMG Yes!!
1 year ago when about all of my Italian side of the family got together at my Godfather's house for Christmas Eve and even though there were about 10 young men of around 18 - 20 in the room my cousin aged 4 decided to run into the room stark naked and sit on their laps.............I never laughed so much in my life!

the year I received my first 22 rifle, a " real " archery set and a beautiful beagle hound puppy to go hunting with. all on the same Christmas. ah, the memories of growing up on a farm. the fact that dad made me a " special place " on a bluff that overlooked the Whitewater River running through the farm and started teaching me the ways of our Ancestors at the age of 6.

well it depends on weather you want the good or the bad...the good memoriy: my first christmas with my family at home after missing 5 straight because of having to work in retail the day after living 150 miles away... the bad living at my grandparents because my drunk father beat the crap out of my mother and not wanting to go to the house but being forced to by my mother..(recieved therapy for this) overall any Chrismas that i get to spend with family for the most part is a good one. and hopefully it will be my own immediate wife and kids(not currenty or ever been married )

I do have a most memorable christmas. Mine was last year. I got and iPod Nano as one of my gifts, but I didn't put that on my Christmas list because I didn't think we could afford it. much to my surprise, my parents had bought my an iPod, and I was so happy, I cried.
