Red Sox Fans?

Will you miss Manny? And who are the Red Sox gonna replace him with, if and when he goes

I would miss Manny a great deal. It looks like they are leaning toward signing J.D. Drew for about $15 million a year. Drew would play right and they would put Willy Mo in left. But I just don't get it. Drew gets hurt too much for that kind of money and Manny is well worth the extra cash for the next 2 years ($18 next year and $20 in 2008). The only thing I can hope for is that they get a couple of great prospects or someone like Jake Peavey in return. Then it might be worth it. But I still do not see anyone protecting Big Papi in the line up unless they do get the prospects and turn around and trade them for a big bat (Andruw Jones?). That would make it interesting.

The Sox cannot replace Manny with 1 other player.

Jones, Wells, Tejada, Texeria, Young - all guys not going anywhere. Period.

Or if they are (Tejada, Wells - not in the same division)


Drew at 4, WMP at 5 could be interesting, they would both have to hit or walk to make people pitch to papi.

Really the Sox want to keep Manny at 4, and protect him with Drew.

Unless they sign JD Drew, Manny will not go, and even then he may not. He is responsible for putting up some remarkable stats over the years, and Ortiz benefit from batting in front of him. I would be surprised if the Red Sox traded him unless they could get a starting pitcher in return.

I'll miss him ,but he's not leaving for a while because no one will dish out the money for him, when he does though Jacoby Ellsbury will be a great replacement
