How can I play City of Heroes for free online?

I was duped into buying it and didn't know you had to pay to play it...

You can't. Oh sure, you can get a two week free trial if they happen to be offering one right now, but that's it. Take it as a lesson in checking into things a bit better before actually buying them. Personally, it's well worth your $15 a month, but you may have a different opinion.
