If I was a speed reader I might. My father is, over 1300 words a minute. If I can maintain 300 wpm for a few seconds I think it's a miracle. But I'm concerned that reading so fast wouldn't give me time to pause and reflect on what's happening in the story.

I'm a speed reader,but I don't think it's wise to speed read for pleasure.it defies the purpose to me.sometimes it's better to take your time and do it right.

I read rather fast in any case, but while reading for pleasure I attempt to take my time. Slowing down helps me to catch the little things that make up the plot, setting, and mood.

You're right, I should slow down when I read, I'm not getting the full impact of the story. Characters, yes, plot, yes, significance... I'll have to get back to you on that.

Yes usually. But i might slow down on important parts or re read them. =)

I do, but only when I get bored with the book - I usually go slower on things for fun

yes i do...but yeah...i'd pause and reflect every few pages or after every chapter...then again i mostly read non-fiction....meaning i don't really read that much for pleasure

im not a speed reader, but i know braille, makes playgirl more interesting.
