Well it does go slow due to users on the ISP and depends on the distance from the Line Exchange. Also it depends of what broadband company your using. If you've using BT and have the Home Hub just unplug it and plug it back in and it normally speeds it up.

I get the impression it's a time of day thing, reflecting internet traffic. Too many of us sharing. At 5.30/6am it's so quick I can't keep up with it. Slows a smidge at 10 (people getting into work?), always goes into serious decline at 2pm(people back from lunch?) and treacle after 6pm(children?), almost at stop Sunday evenings(everybody?).

All the above plus busy times do get slower.
Try doing Yahoo Answers on a Sunday morning. It's dire.

Your ISP's service is either really slow or you should try to clean out your temporary internet files. To do this go start, then right click your internet browser. this is under internet properties. You can also use disc clean up on XP which will do this!

You need to give your computer a thorough check-up.
Run a system diagnostics for any unwanted viruses,spy-ware and cookies.
You could also do a disk clean up as well.
