a friend of mine is having his child supports modified for a child he has been supporting since birth. The child is now 18 yrs. old and is inthe 10th grade so the mother now wants more money even though for a year the chid lived with the father and continued to make child support payments to the mother. What can he do to prevent this from happening. He is also paying child support to his ex-wife for thier two children?

In the child support arena modification usually happens every 5 years. It just one of those child support rules. Now if his income has not change his payments probably will not change. You know if he's had an income increase and based on other things he might have to pay more or less.

maybe he should try and stick around to actually raise one, this is just how it is, if you make a child, you need to support it. My question, why is the kid 18 and only in the tenth grade?? The state we live in says you have to pay till they graduate or turn 19, whichever comes first.
