Depends on where you look. While the role of women has changed drastically over the past 100 years in Industrialized nations, yet it has changed little, if at all, in the Middle East.
For the Industrialized nations, Womens Suffrage passed, granting women the right to vote, hold public office, and generally work outside of the home, which prior to that time was considered solely the obligation of men.

In some ways yes. There are more married women who work now than there were a hundred years ago (though there were always some). A hundred years ago the husband was supposed to be the head of the household(though there were some women who ruled the roost then just as there are now), but nowadays a more egalitarian relationship is favoured. There are a lot more divorces now and more single parents. More women are raising children on their own. There are a lot more women in professions like law, medicine, etc, than there were a hundred years ago. I think though that in some ways things haven't changed that much. Women still do most of the domestic work whether they work or not, and the same was true a hundred years ago (though admittedly housework is easier now due to labor saving devices that were not available 100 years ago). Women still tend to have the main responsibility for looking after the children. And, despite all the women working in professions etc, most women who work are doing fairly 'traditional' female jobs: they are nurses, teachers, secretaries, sales clerks etc.

No...their role hasn't changed. Just their perceptions about what it's supposed to be. Men and women are designed to best fit certain roles in life. Feminism teaches women to ignore what they were designed to be and persue that which men were designed to be. It's like trying to fit a square peg in a round hole...it only results in frustration for both.

Instead of being "kept in our places" by men, restricted of certain freedoms and chained to a set of archaic rules and morals we are now objectified as sex toys in the media, have jobs that pay as much as men so we can pay other people to watch our children grow up and still get to live in a world of glaring double standards.
Are you seeing any improvement there?

Yes we have come all the way from being personal possessions (our fathers, or husbands) to emancipated individuals. We now speak, act,and be, what we want, hallelujah

Everything a man does, thinks, or feels revolves around sex, sports, eating, and protecting what is his. *Not necessarily in that order.* =0)
