How do I set up a music stand for my 10 year old daughter? It's her first year in band and she pulled the stand out of the box that I bought her and there are no instructions. I know to attach the skinny round pole into the base but once I get the top part on the big bulky thing in the middle doesn't fold down to hold her music. HELP!! Please? What am I doing wrong?

Thank you so much Marissa! You're a lifesaver! I have it put together now! Yay!!! hehe....

I feel like a dork. I've never had any experience with that kind of stuff. All new to me. Thanks again!

I have the same one. It's silver or black and there are three pieces.

The first part will open up or unfold to form the top of the stand. This piece has two of the widest pieces of metal. Pull them apart to form the top of the stand.

The skinny metal piece fits inside of the piece that has three unifom pieces, which are the legs of the stand.

Pull down on the legs of the final piece to get the stand to stand. There will be a clip on the piece to loosen the legs to allow you to pull them down or to secure and allow the stand to support the music.

The top part attaches to the angular part of the pole the fits into the base.

I hope that this wasn't too confusing!

It should look like the one in the link provided.
