Since salt isn't that expensive, you could have a couple containers on hand in case you need to do this a few times. Make sure you measure how much salt you put in, maybe add it in 1 teaspoon increments until the egg becomes positively buoyant.
I imagine the amount of salt needed would differ from egg to egg because eggs are not all "eggsactly" (sorry!) the same in weight. So, if I did this experiment and told you how much salt I used, you probably would end up using a different amount of salt unless you used the same egg I did.
Ah, positively buoyant, negatively buoyant... you're talking my language now... SCUBA!! :)

It depends on the relative density of the egg, which I suspect varies somewhat, and on the volume of water you are trying to float the egg in. The more water you have, the more salt will be needed. Why don't you just try it? It will be a non-destructive test for the egg.
Reminds me of a story I heard about Thomas Edison. When he was getting ready to go into production with his new invention, the light bulb, he needed to know how much inert gas was required to fill the bulb. So he set a mathematician to work to calculate the volume of the bulb. Some time later Edison came back and the mathematician had still not solved the problem. In disgust, Edison grabbed a bulb, filled it with water, and then poured the water into a graduated cylinder to measure the volume.
Sometimes there is a lot to be said for the experimental method.

The best way to answer a question like this is to just do it. I don't think there's a formula in the world that can tell you how much salt you'll need. MAYBE if you knew the density of the egg you could figure it out. Easier just to do the experiment.

In fact it would. It would depend on how much water is used. Try adding salt by teaspoons at a time.

"Trolls must be operating time previous regulation!" regrettably, they spoke to their union reps and were informed they hadn't been assembly their quotas the previous couple of months, so assume them to be out in stress. I regularly carry a Stun gun round to apply on them, to target to shop em decrease back. Oh, and humorous as hell shaggy dog tale....
