OK, I own a 93 Buick Regal. Whenever I start it, it feels like it shakes, especially when I put it reverse. When I put it back in drive and start gasing it, it seems fine. Once I get it up to about 40-50 miles an hour, the RPM drops and the car starts shaking. Also, the other day, I really gassed my car to back up, and my friend said he could smell gasoline. I replaced the coils in the car and it's got antifreeze, so I don't know what else it could be...

Without looking at the car, it is hard to guess, but it sounds like you have a problem in you fuel delivery system, either with low fuel pressure, or possibly a fuel leak. The first thing to do is have the computer scanned for trouble codes (you can have this done for free at some auto parts stores), to rule out sensor and computer problems. If there are no codes, look for a leaking fuel line, and have your fuel pressure tested!

Am in UK so not well up on Buicks but sounds like fuel injection/pump. Being Auto reverse produces most torque and takes most out of engine, that's why it shakes I guess, as for 40/50mph guess that's the pressure it's sucking in air to fuel lines. Get to a garage and tell mechanic, have had a couple of cars that literally spray a fine mist of gas out... onto a hot engine! Not good, been lucky so far. Like I say, don't panic, because I hold my hands up I could be wrong, but better safe than sorry

check lines and or fuel pump… complete tune up, new serpentine belt...
if it hasn’t been properly maintained for the past 13 years… shane on you ;) could be a lot off problems... take it to a Buick dealer – it may cost a little more for but they know the vehicle better and have the proper testing equipment to get to fixed right the first time - otherwise you are just guessing and possibly making unnecessary repairs thus costing you more in the long run… good luck ;)

Possibly the timing is off. It might be a good idea to have an electronic diagnostic check, most places charge $50 or less.

Without seeing your vehicle, it sounds like it could be anything from serious -a blown head gasket-which would cause it to loose momentum to a clogged fuel filter -not serious. Sounds more like gaskets or trouble in your exhaust manifold. Better have it checked.
Might be timing belt needs to be adjusted.

Could be any number of problems. I am not a mechanic though. My bf is though. Unfortunately he is working at the moment. I did find a website that may be helpful to you.

Sounds like your choke is sticking. You need to have someone look at your car.

Go and ask your local mecanic. I think it might be something wrong with your left hydrosofter but it could also be that your breaks/motor don't have enough silpogen. Although to be sure ask a mecanic.

Have someone take a look at your oxygen sensor.
It sounds like your fuel/oxygen mix is out.
