It is better to have two...but first af all, you must know how to care it !!
Remember to give it uva ( 12 hs a day ), calcium, vitamin a, and a correct food like snails, acuatics plants, fish, etc.....
Without all this ...they die !!!
Please care your pet !!! he needs you a lot to live !!!
Read information...he really need you !!

Turtles do not need cagemates, and should not have them unless you can offer each its own space.

You should also know that turtles are harder to care for than some people tell you. for example, they need:
- 10 gallons of water per inch of turtle, which means a baby turtle needs a 20 gallon tank 1/2 filled. It also means 2 baby turtles need twice as big of a tank!
- Water heated to 75-80, and the basking sites heated to 90.
- Powerful filtration to keep the water clean.
- Lighting that simulates sunlight, including UV-B rays (this is a little tough to provide, but important to the turtle.)

I think you should consider what type of turtle it is. You need to know how long they will live, and how big they will get.
We have a box turtle, and we love him. He is really fun, and very easy to take care of. We are going to get him a turtle friend.

I think that animals always do better with a buddy of the same species. This holds true for sheep, pigs, etc. Horses are known to seek out 'pasture pals' if they are the only horse. They will befriend a goat, pig, lamb, chickens, etc.

So I would say yes, get your turtle a friend if you can.

Turtles don't really need company. They can live on there own. But they also enjoy the company of other turtles. So if u think that u can afford 2 OK. But its not necessary.

i think you should get 2. I mean, at least they'd have some kind of social interaction with each other when no one could play with them. I have one turtle, and he's bored all the time, but we don't have room to get 2 turtles.

YOUR GOOD DON'T LISTEN TO THEM CAUSE IF YOU HAVE TWO IT WOULD MEAN THAT U HAVE TO GET A BIGGER TANK LATER ON IN THEIR LIFE. IF U CAN'T CARE FOR THEM WELL JUST GET ONE BETTER THEN TWO DYING OR DON'T GET ONE AT ALL
