He's taking an indefinate leave of abscence from WWE. He is about to go through a pretty ugly divorce and I guess some of the details are pretty bad and will become public. He and WWE I guess figured it would be better if he wasn't on the active roster.

I thought right then and there The Nature Boy was going to announce he was going to retire (who ever retires in pro-wrestling)

he is getting older,plus also i think that he knows he may never get cheered like that again. he knows that he become a build-uper of the new talent (like mick foley, stone cold) so he might not win many more matches, so perhaps WWE put him in with DX knowing the fans would go mad, saying thanks and this is your moment kinda thing, i think that when triple h and shawn hug him they telling him to enjoy it. but thats only what i think.

I think either he was so glad that he was with Shawn an HHH an they showed so much credit to him. Or something is wrong with him an he has to leave

Initially, I thought he was upset because Piper has cancer, but the main reason is divorce he's going through. Although, Piper's illness probably did upset him.
