It can pass down into the ground and be cleaned by the filtration of going through the sand. It evaporates (which is like distilling it). Then it falls as rain which is clean (except for any impurities picked up from the air it fell through).

It gets dirty from being used in manufacturing and in bathrooms and kitchens. It may also have industrial waste or farm waste running into it. It can also pick up silt from storm water passing over the ground or from rivers cutting into their banks. It can pick up radioactivity from passing over granite rocks with radon gas in them. Those all add up to dirty.

somebody with reliable palms.. He he he i could use a hosehold air purifier somthing which will kill mildoo. mats are a moist grimy element that if it dosen't dry out, this is going to start to advance bushy stuff. Bleach is powerful once you have sparkling em. DON"T combination CHIMICALS
