why bring back National Service when all we have to do is organise and train all the young people in prison to be better trained in skills for a better life outside ! Or is that too simple a solution?

Your suggestion will solve the problem of making sure ex-cons have skills so they can survive outside of prison, but that's not all that national service is designed to accomplish. It's also a means to break down barriers of race, class and ethnicity by having people from different groups work together towards common goals while they're still young. This doesn't always happen otherwise. So in addition to the work that's performed, national service also achieves greater social stability and cohesion.

This is a great question, and one that doesn't have a straightforward answer. The theory goes like this: In most cases government suppression of speech is forbidden because of the existence of "listener self-help", that is the idea that the listener (or viewer) has some remedy to not listen or to not view the offending speech. In your case, however, the children don't seem to have any way to "self-help". There is no other way to get to class, so they must be forced to listen to the offensive speech. Cases that have relied on a lack of self-help mechanism have had varying degrees of success, so while I think the kids have a case I don't know if it would go the distance. However, the school probably has some trespassing law in place and if the guy doesn't have a reason to be there I'm pretty sure he can be removed on those grounds.

It is too simple, why give criminals a chance, they made there choice now they should live with it...The youth are the up and coming, put money into them to better there bright futures....stop crime by teaching and nuturing young people....why waste it on people who didnt care in the first place...on the other hand, should we give crims another chance to flourish in the community?....lol...the end lol

Seems reasonable, but when did you ever see a politician go for a simple solution - unless it cost nothing?

thats not the worst idea, but how about instead of training kids in prison we just shoot the little rascals, that way the country will not have to suffer them any longer.
