I have a illustrated kleenex box in my bathroom covered in whispy roses and other floral blooms bursting from all corners of the box.

I'm a single guy living alone, and don't want a large box with bad drawings of roses and lilacs as bathroom decoration. A guest may think I'm into roses or something?

Why do the tissue companies insist on printing most of their boxes with these feminine whispy drawings of flowers? Are tissues inherently feminine? Guys blow their nose too?

That's because women do most of the shopping and typically buy something more decorative. You can find masculine or neutral prints now and then. I got a tissue box cover because some of those prints are even too fruity for me and tissues are a must-have. You can usually find them in the isle where they sell the bathroom decor.

If you are only buying the Kleenex brand, they have a whole lot of different patterned boxes. There is a classic one that is either gold or silver colored, with the most amount of tissues in it. Look for that one instead. These with the fancier boxes are sometimes packed with less product. And yes, most household shopping is done by females. So companies try to attract their eyes with certain colors and patterns. But...just try shopping in another supermarket if you can, they do have the classic boxes available most of the time.

I assume its' because the woman of the house does most of the shopping and they want a Kleenex box that will match their home decore.
You can find solid boxes now and then.

Mostly women buy them. I have seen the long shallow boxes for your car in patterns to suit a male.
