Most of them do, because the boxes generate heat, just like any electronic device does. It's perfectly safe for both the cat and the CATV box.

Mine sleeps on my direct TV box...Maybe it warm and they like it...My cats a dwarf so she is really small, cant I'magine if she was a normal size cat trying to lay on it...At least im not the only one with a weird cat...

No, but I'm sure that's because we don't have one! :) My cat sits on the ottoman in the center of the living room. When you sit on the ottoman, you are at the center of room, and can see everything....down the hall, into the kitchen, out the windows, the TV and the food dish.....everything important in life! So that is where his Majesty rests his royal bottom, so that he can prove he is the center of everything!
