The question was...What is the 95% confidence interval estimate for the population slope Beta 1?

the answer is 1.06(Greater than less than sign <------)1.91

Even if you don't get this question and answer can you tell me what I am to do with this equation...

1.487+/- 2.571(.165) This is how the answer was found but I don't know what to do with this...(the plus sign is above the minus sign)

The +/- means exactly what it looks like. It means that there are two possible answers.
Answer 1 : 1.487+2.571(0.165)
Answer 2 : 1.487-2.571(0.165)

You get the +/- from taking a square root because (almost) all square roots can either be positive or negative.

Most important is that zero is not in the interval. If it were, then it's possible that beta 1 could be zero which means no dependence.

That's really the most important aspect of the CI. The second thing is that the smaller the CI the better your model.

I'm sorry, but this is way past me. What class is this for? Statistics? I took pre-cal/calc back in high school, but haven't used any of what I "learned" so I don't remember any of it.

Sorry I couldn't be any help.
