I have to get home from work tonight and the roads are covered in solid ice. I was using my 4 wheel drive on the way to work and was sliding around a lot. I have two sets of chains that I can use, but I noticed that some people only had the front chained, while others had the back chained... which should I do? I have to drive up and down a lot of hills... should I chain them all?

If I have all four chained I should be in 4 high, not 4 lo?

I would recommend a set of chains on the drive wheels, and using 2WD.

The site below covers most of the points I would make.

Chain the driven wheels. I'd chain all four if there's any chance of seeing any more snow. You might choose not to chain the none-driven wheels in 2wd, but given the choice I'd do all four. A good reason for only chaining one axle is lack of a second set of chains. I have 3 sets.

Yes, 4 high. You want to minimize the torque to the wheels in icy conditions. That's a good reason for avoiding diff locks and solid centers too.
