I have a dell inspiron 6400 and it has an intel core duo processor

1. Delete all unnecessary shortcuts on the desktop.
2. Do an antivirus scan
3. Defragment disk to reclaim some space
4. Delete temporary internet files from the Internet settings
5. Delete all programs that you don't actually need.
6. Back up your info and then free some space on the hard drive

Upgrade the Ram , I would recommend 512 M or one 1 G, and Processor, I would prefer Intel Core 2 Duo processor

More RAM. Or try runing msconfig and keeping un-necessary programs from running at start up. You could increase the clock speed in the BIOS. The last two are for those that know what they are doing ONLY!!! YOU CAN MESS YOUR COMP UP!! More RAM is the cheapest and easiest way to speed up your computer.

Go to dell website and find out what is the fastest speed your board will run and see about upgrading to that speed.

get core 2 extreme processor from best buy or circut city that will increase it's speed.

MAX RAM, MAX PROCESSOR SPEED, get a PENTIUM.... AMD's are SLOW!
Get Broadband internet connection.

You need some more memory, or you have downloaded too much and need to wipe out the computer.
