we have a winner...the battery is your problem, you either need

A. New Battery =have it tested

B. New Alternator=have it tested

C. Buy a new battery and see if that works and if the battery dies again it must be the alternator not charging the battery...

That's a very good indication of an electrical problem and does tend to point toward the battery. However, I would do the following to verify:

1. Pop the hood and look at the battery connections. Are they corroded/dirty? If so, you need to clean them. Just about any autoparts store and walmart for that matter, has a battery post bush. This tool has wire brush bristles in a circular tube that you can push over the battery terminals and twist to clean them. It also has a part that looks like a pipe cleaner on steriods that is used to clean the inside of the wire connections for the battery. Get someone to 'jump your car' and let it run to 'recharge the battery'.
2. Now either you've cleaned the battery or you've determined it's clean and your still having trouble getting it to start. This probably means that your battery has no charge but doesn't necessarily mean it's time to replace it. It could have lost it's charge because the alternator on the car isn't charging like it should. Get someone to 'jump start' the car. While it is running at idle with the other car disconnected. Remove the ground wire from the battery. Did it die? If not, turn on the head lights, radios, AC on full, etc to get as much juice pull as possible. Did it die? If not.. this indicates the Alternator is putting out enough juice to run the car and probably charge the battery too. If it doesn't stay running.. then your alternator is probably bad.
3. If your battery is clean and the alternator checks out... it's time get a new battery.

BTW: Most autoparts stores that sell batteries have devices to help you check your battery and alternator. Jump start you car, take it to Autozone, Oriely's, Pep Boys, Walmart, etc and have them check your electrical system. Generally they will do this for free.. since you'll probably buy your battery from them.

Good luck and I hope this helps!

sounds like the battery. You can test it by turning the key till the dash lights up. When it does turn on your head lights and try to beep the horn if the lights dim then the battery is goine. The best batteries to get are either optimum (for performance) or the sears diehard gold series. The sears one has like a 5 year warrenty so you can replace it if anything goes wrong with it.

Sounds like corroded Batery terminals check for corrosion if it exists pour some Coke on the terminals, the acid in the Coke should eat away the corrosion and your car should start after a few minutes of the coke sitting on the terminals. If that doesn't work one of the batery cables may be loose so jiggle them and the car should be able to start.
