The accomodation was wooden huts with shelves for the inmates to sleep on rather than bunks. The gas chambers were airtight concrete bunkers done out to look like shower blocks to lull the people into a false sense of security when they were sent in. The furnaces to dispose of the bodies were basically a giant oven. It was designed to exterminate on an industrial scale

If you mean all concentration camps then don't forget the original British ones in the 2nd Boer War.

Pretty sturdy since some are still around and open to the public for their viewing pleasure. All former occupants agree that they were not much in the way of amenities. The landlords weren't that great either.

You really really don't want to know, Imagine the worst possible scenario you can in your mind, times a million, and you don't even come to 1% of the horror carried out in those HELL holes Let the poor souls R.I.P.

crowded I Would imagine. At Aushwitz they were originally a Polish Barracks and Stables but they built more from Wood
