No. Slave owners were taxed on the slaves. "Taxation without representation" was a major cause of the Civil War. Slave owners were taxed on slaves because the slaves were counted as part of the total population for tax purposes, but slaves didn't cout as part of the population when representation in the House of Representatives was calculated.

no, taxes are income taxes and from what i know, they are called slaves b/c they didn't receive wages, housing and food maybe, but no wages
