If you are talking about standard Tivos (40 hr, 80 hr, etc.), yes you need to pay $12.95/month or buy a lifetime subscription for $300. If you are talking about DirectTV Tivos or other branded Tivos, I am not sure. I think it is just per a month.

yes, all companies that have tivo charge for the service. you can buy the box from any electronics store but you would have to activate the service through your cable of satellite provider. try directv, their monthly charge for tivo service is 5.99 per month no matter how many tivos you get.

depends on how u have it. the ones from companies yes but its worth it because u can record through the guide. also, u can buy tivos in stores and get hooked up to tv

Yes, but It is incuded with the total cost., you can buy TIVO most best buy or circuit city, but,you wud still have to pay for their service

i heard in certain places you have to pay for tivo but in some places you do not have to
