I'll donate to Toys For Tots, adopt a needy person from one of the local Angel Tree programs, probably help at the soup kitchen, and above all, try to help the elderly. I always feel sorry for the elderly at this time of year. Everybody knocks themselves out to help children, but are content to just let the elderly rot in nursing homes, forgotten and lonely. Ever read lists of what old people want for Christmas? It's not junk like flashy toys; it's simple things like hairbrushes, socks, shoes, a warm coat, and so forth. It's heartbreaking. People can't be troubled to buy their elderly relatives basics like a new toothbrush or a shirt that fits properly, and I think that's wrong.

I'm going to try and reduce the foundation of the problem which is my ego/self. I need to especially be careful when I get an identity/self-image of someone who is spiritual or helping others because this is the subtlest form of ego and ... ego is ego (self is self) regardless of whether it's the 'good' one or the 'bad' one. Once I do that, the best thing will result.

Well, bully for you. I guess that makes you and your family great people. Really sweet.
I will not be doing anything whatsoever for charity. If you want something in this life, you've got to work for it.
It's about time all the bone idle vagrants and peasants got off their backsides and did an honest days work.
People like you, giving them something for nothing only encourage them. Shame on you.
