A golden retriever is a very nice dog to get. i have one and it's a great pet to have.

Basset Hounds by a long shot! Great with children, very mild natured dogs. A close second would have to be Bloodhounds. They also have a very mild temperment. Beagles are also great family dogs. And in lieu of those, try Labradors.

Out of all the different breeds that I have had, my favorite is the terrier breed. More specifically wire haired fox terriers and airdales. They are highly intelligent, well behaved, easy to train and fun.

i have two favorite breeds of dogs the great Pyrenees and chows both breeds are working dogs and serve a good purpose in two different fields. (no pun intended)

Boston Terriers are wonderful! They were bred originally to be companion dogs so they do make a terrific addition to the family. Good Luck and if you get a girl Boston, name her Pebbles after my sweet childhood dog.

I just got a Black lab today he is a very good dog and they listen better than humans do it seems

my favorite by far is a boxer. i have two, inside. but they are a handfull! they are hyper and slobbery and have allergies and need a lot of attention. there are plenty of sites that have compatiblity tests for people thinking about getting dogs. good luck!!
