Eli Manning actually signed with the Chargers when he was drafted. I wonder how good the Chargers would be with Eli at the helm. Where would Rivers be? Would Rivers be the Giants QB?

or...what if the Charges drafted Michael Vick instead of trading the pick and taking Ladanian Tomlinson? Then they would not have drafted Eli Manning / Phillip Rivers and would not have LT.
Also where would Drew Brees be?

Too hard to ask "what if".

I think if Eli Manning stays, Drew Brees isn't in the NFL today. Brees was on his last legs when Rivers came, and if Brees would have struggled any in that rookie season with Rivers, then he was gone the following season. Now if Eli Manning was there, I don't believe Brees ever gets that final chance to become the Chargers starting QB. Eli Manning had so much prestige coming into the NFL being the brother of Peyton and son of Archie it was ridiculous. Remember when the Giants were 5-2 under Kurt Warner in Eli Manning's rookie year? Giants threw away that season just to get Eli ready for the upcoming seasons in which they thought would provide nothing but superbowl after superbowl. Hasn't panned out. Do they do that with Rivers? No. Rivers would not have played until the second or maybe even third year in the Giants. Eli would be starting in San Diego (hard to say how good he would be there though. Yes, he would have Tomlinson/Gates, but he already has Barber/Shockey along wtih Plaxico in New York), and Brees would be doing whatever he majored in at Iowa.

The Chargers would be worse. Sure LT would make Eli better, but Eli would make LT worse, and thus the Chargers would plummit. The Giants would improve, because Rivers would provide a consistant and accurate passing QB, with more mobility and awareness.

It's not like the Giants suck! They have better receivers then the Chargers, a comparable O Line a decent Tight End and Tiki Barber, who is not a blow over back...Not to mention their defense. The fact is that Eli is what sucks, not the Giants. He has made them worse, and would have done the same to the Chargers if he stayed with them.

To tell you the truth, I think Phil Rivers is a better QB than Eli. Eli is a big F@CKIN baby, and Rivers sat on the sidelines waiting for his shot, and look at him now. He's the starter for a great team and look how well they're doing. Even with the great Giants Eli doesn't know when to make good decisions yet. He has good recievers, so there shouldn't be a problem there.

The Chargers have a very good team, they can pss-protect and have many weapons on offense thts why Philp Rivers is performing the way he has. Eli Manning can be a good QB but he doesn't posses that QB vision and ability to divert CB, DBs, and SS unlike his bro.

Maybe, just maybe Eli would have been a Pro Bowler had he gone to the Chargers but I guess that guy just doesn't want to win a Super Bowl!

I think the Chargers would have a more experienced quarterback and would be slightly better.

I think if Rivers would have started sooner if he went to NYG and now be further along and more experienced. The NYG might would be a little better now. Who knows?

What is unknown is where would Drew Brees be. Would he have gotten a chance as a starter somewhere else? Would he have gotten the chance to improve to where he is now on a team beside San Diego?

Eli would look like a star right now because of LT and Rivers well ?

They would be #1. Rivers would have gone to a lower team and not had a good career.
