Frogs will eat anything that fits in their mouth. If the tables were turned, and your goldfish was huge and the frog was small, the goldfish would eat the frog.

Frogs are hungry, gluttonous creatures, and should be kept seperate. Anyway, unless you have a pond or a 300gallon tank, you shouldn't be keeping goldfish. Goldfish (if they aren't eaten first) can grow to 1-2 feet long (except fancies, which are smaller and need 20gallons per fish) and are HUGE waste producers. Poop machines, really.

My advice, if you buy anymore companions for your frog, make them edible companions ;)

oooops

Well that really can't be answered with a yes or no.
Larger fish will eat frogs and the frogs will eat smaller fish.

These frogs are fun and unique but love to eat fish and their own babies. They are very carnivorous.

But, large goldfish have been known to do OK in with the frogs.
Goldfish are not aggressive so they won't harm frog but anything that can fit in the frogs mouth is going to be eaten most likely.

See, these frogs are scavengers and will eat most anything they can fit into their mouths. Whatever they can smell and touch. Even though they don't have a tongue, if it smells good they can probably taste it. LOL

If you feed them once a day with as much food as they can consume in 15 minutes they should be happy campers. But avoid Overfeeding them though.

If you spend enough time watching your frogs when they eat, and the frogs are comfortable in their home, then they will eat from your hands eventually.

But remember whatever fits in their mouth so.....you might get your fingers nibbled on when they are getting the food out of your fingers but they don't have any teeth so have no fear.
If you aren't a fish or some of the things I will list below for you then consider your frog to be completely harmless.

Things you can feed your frog to help him/her stay away from your goldfish. But keep in mind, if your goldfish are not considerably bigger than your frog more might get eaten.

You can feed your frog:
Brine shrimp
krill
shrimp pellets
Tetra Reptomin sticks
meal worms
Daphnia
wax worms
feed frozen blood worms
frozen brine shrimp
feeder guppies
goldfish
nightcrawlers
non fatty raw meat
insects
shrimp
pet foods like for your dog
cat food
and much more....

He/She will readily gulp most of this down.

(make sure you mix tank water in a cup with the frozen food before placing the food in the tank.)
Be careful with live foods, make sure they are not ill or in bad health.

Feed your new pet well and hopefully, fewer goldfish will disappear and your frog will grow into a large friend lasting many years.

This pertains to the aquatic frog that has long unwebbed fingers and fully webbed feet with small claws on three toes.

They don't have any lids on their eyes and their body is kinda flattened with the eyes being positioned on top of the head.

By the way, your new friend needs his tank kept clean because he she is a very messy housekeeper. Should fit in fine with a BIG Goldfish.

Hope this helps

If the goldfish's body was smaller than your frogs mouth than you should have waited to house them together. I have 3 and they are all housed with a 6 inch goldfish and I have never had any problems with them.

I think they can live together as long as they are fed well and the goldfish are a little bigger. I have never seem my albino frogs eat anything out of the ordinary.

first off that sounds like a big frog or little goldfish, but i would have kept them separated, untill the goldfish was a little larger than the frog, then again, with my goldfish i don't put anything else in the tank besides goldfish, maybe thats how mine are more peacefull and less stressed. WINK, WINK

Yes the frogs you have will just about eat anything that will fit in their big mouths. I had a pair of these frogs years ago that were big! They would eat feeder fish and the water would get filthy fast. I gave mine to a pet store and was happy to be rid of them.

4-7 inchs, yet in the wild they authentic out at around 5. yet through commercial use, they have long previous up in length. best i've got seen exchange right into a 8 inch. 10G consistent with frog, so a 35-45G could do you effective. (30 is smallest you are able to bypass, and that i does no longer propose it). 12-14 inchs of water, and six+ inchs of respiratory room is suggested. i'd propose bigger rocks rather of gravel, consistent with hazard pebbles. and take a verify out and added distinctive depths on your tank. make a shallow end, and a deep end (yet each and every thing nonetheless underwater). Make hiding spots. usually with my fish i like to make hiding spots utilising rocks or pots, yet making it bigger by digging into the gravel. Room temp is effective additionally, 70ish. additionally run 12hr mild cycles, and a extensive-unfold aquarium mild will do. you are able to homestead those frogs with fish, yet i does no longer propose it. If any of the fish are smaller then them, they're going to easily attempt to consume them. additionally, a large variety of the chemical compounds used to stability the water for some fish will harm your frogs. those varieties of frogs certainly need is dechlorinated water. bloodworms, waxworms, earthworms, feeder fish including guppies, brine shrimp, rosys are additionally a solid decision for feeders. merely confirm each and every thing floats, or does not sink in to without postpone . Like maximum aquatic animals, purely positioned sufficient nutrients which could be eaten in 7-10 minutes. and you're able to feed them consistent with hazard as quickly as every day. yet its suggested 3-6 circumstances. (4 is prob the superb)
