It will take time. You will be able to in the long run, but it might be harder to get the big "O". Not all the feeling will come back. My concern as well is that, we as women are emotional, you didn't mention it, but I just want to touch on this. You are as much as a women now as before. Just remember that. You never said how old you are, but you might lose some sex drive or go into premature menopause. Make sure you make sure you feel your best, and everthing else will happen naturally

Hm, well I for 1 had to have a hysterectomy 2 yrs ago at the age of 36. I have 1 ovary left and my sex drive is better than it ever was. Course, I had problems with bleeding for so many years and now I don't have to worry about it anymore, maybe that's why ? Anyway, a healthy sex life is what you make of it. Keep it exciting and spontanious regardless of how long you've been with the person. There's also "little friends" you can get to help you out with the "big o" before sex itself, which I find helps anyway... lol. Good luck and I hope you're feeling much better ! I know I sure do.

Actually, I found that both my sex drive and my ability to orgasm improved after my hysterectomy. Probably because of two things:
1. I no longer had the pain that caused me to require the hysterectomy in the first place.
2. There is no fear, ever again, of pregnancy. There is no "oooh, do we do it this week or is it too yucky??" time slot every month. Any day and every day becomes a good day for jiggin' it up!
On the serious side, I did find that it took me a long time to accept that my ability to CHOOSE whether or not I wanted to have a child had been taken away from me - but with time I have come to accept that that's OK too.
Enjoy experimenting with your new freedom!

Well if they took the ovaries and all, you have no way of producing hormones. You modt likely need to take oral hormones to get that feeling back again. When you have surgery many of the nerve ending are damaged and take a long time to regrow if they ever do. A lot of it is in the mind too.
