No. It's not a choice. It's not a sin. It's not a disorder, disease, dysfunction, perversion, abomination, mental illness, maladjustment, phase or gender confusion.

It is a normal, healthy sexual orientation that can not and will not change.

Being gay is not a choice. However, a gay person like a straight person can choose to be celebate. Maybe that is the choice all those "christians" are talking about.

The argument that Homosexual Orientation Is Natural or Normal” is flawed.

Leaving aside the important issues of the manner in which the scientific “research” is conducted and the kind of interpretation given to the research “findings,”7 even proving that homosexual orientation is inborn will not make homosexuality normal or desirable.

Many defects or handicaps today are inborn, but hardly anyone would call them normal for that reason alone. Why should homosexuality be considered natural or normal, even if it might be inborn?

When we say that something is natural, we refer to what happens repeatedly in the world of nature; we do not assign moral judgment to it. For example, spiders kill
and eat other spiders, including their mates. “But as a moral category natural refers to something that is in accord with God’s intention.

Actions are good or bad: for example, people sometimes kill and eat other people. But the fact that cannibalism
happens in the world--perhaps in satisfaction of deeply held religious beliefs or peculiar culinary tastes--does not make it natural in the sense that it conforms to God’s will.

In summary: that which is natural to human experience or human desire is not necessarily natural in God’s moral design.”8

I'm gay ... it's something I feel naturally. When did you choose to be straight? Why would you think it as being different then us.

And also ... why in the hell would I choose this lifestyle ... a lifestyle that gives people a chance to ridcule and abuse someone? Definitely not a choice.

You cannot choose your sexual preference...Some people are predominantly attracted to people with say dark hair and dark eyes or blonde hair blue eyes etc...and they generally tend to find partners of thier preference...however the might also verge from the norm if they find someone mentally stimulating and fun to be with thats where the theory of nobody is 100 percent gay or straight there is always the possibility you will find someone who is not what you usually go for attractive and then it becomes a sexual attraction. If you are comfortable with your sexuality it does not pose a problem. i choose to sleep with women because i want to, i choose not to sleep with men because they dont do it for me it is quite simple...nuns and priests etc choose not to have sexual relations at all, it does not stop them from thinking or being sexual. so yes i spose it is a choice who you sleep with, but you have not choice on your preference of sexual partner.

Unfortunately, no solid proof yet exists, results of numerous studies have been suggestive, no more. We can only speak from personal experience, and what sane person, given the level of persecution gays receive, would possibly "choose" to put themselves through that?

There are no scientic studies and never will be because it's a choice. Explain wise one how gay people would create offspring to carry on their lineage?

No being homosexual is not a choice. its like one day you see a hot girl/guy walk by and your like oh my god he/she is so hot im going to be homosexual/heteralsexual now.
You may not be gay from the day you are born but i think that it is always with you wether you try to fight it , let it out right away, or just dont show it till you gat older. I dont belive being gay is a choice.

yes, somehow it is..

being gay is affected by many circumstances.. hormones, family backgrounds, environment, experiences..

maybe you'll wake up and realize you're gay.. but its a choice, whether to stay gay and come out of the closet or try to change for what ever reason.. which usually is, fear..

Being gay is NOT genetic and its NOT a choice. It is a PREFERENCE and a LIFESTYLE. I prefer to be with other women because they are who I respond the most to & who i', attracted to. I did not "Choose" to have an attraction to the same sex, it is what my mind, body & soul PREFERS. Women complete me. But it has never been proven to be genetic either. My parents are heterosexual, so are my grandparents. So if a scientist/doctor tried to tell me that im a lesbian cuz my great great great great grandmother enjoyed "play time" with her slave masters wife, i'd probably kick the hell outta him/her.
