Okay, first off, at age eleven, she can have makeup, but I wouldn't let her go to school wearing it.
Buy it for her, but don't let her wear it on a daily basis.
More formal occasions.
Try Bare Essentials. It actually helps the skin become more healthy as you wear it.
Try getting her some simple blush and gold-bronze eyeshadow.
Teach her that the key to wearing makeup is to make it look like you're not wearing any. The only thing you should see it the eyeshadow and lip gloss/lipstick. That's why Bare Essentials are good.
Next, if you're buying her something for her lips, try lip glosses. Wait until she's older for lipstick. Buy her some soft pink shades. Try not to go all-out with Fire-Engine Red, okay? Hah!
Overall, try getting her some nice tan-bronze blush, some soft pink lip gloss, and if you want to get her eyeshadow, try bronzes and gold.
Don't buy her blues, purples, or shades like that yet.
I hope I helped.

11 years old is too young for makeup period, no matter how "mature" your daughter is mentally. She is still a child emotionally and physically. Think about it - makeup makes women appear (in most cases) prettier, more sophisticated and more attractive to the opposite sex. Is that necessary or desirable for an 11-year old? There are enough perverts out there as it is - please do not entice them by allowing your daughter to wear makeup at such an early age, which will make her look much older than 11. She has her whole life ahead of her and once you cross that threshold of innocence you cannot go back. She may not be happy with your decision, but your role as a parent is not to merely keep her happy, but to make decisions such as this for her precisely because she does not have the experience and maturity to make them for herself. I too wanted to wear makeup at an early age (although I think it was like 13-14) and I was not allowed to wear ANY until 17, and that was only because I was going off to college by then.

I think at the age of 11 she could weara little bit of blush and lipgloss, the when she is about 14 (starting high school) she could wear a little eye shadow and some lipstick, just not a lot. By the time she is 16, she should be able to choose which makeup she wants to wear and you monitor it and make sure its not too much.

You sound like a single dad. I am too. I have been through this with my daughter. I realized that is something that girls do and I didn't have a clue. So I started her out at about age ten with some play make up, and progressed from there. Then I allowed nail polish and so on. At about 13 I took her to a cosmetics store in the mall and helped her with applying it properly. Just take it a step at a time. This is something that little girls are into, and you can't stop them from growing up, so make sure that they do it properly.

I am 14 and my mom eased me into make up. If she is 11 let her wear some lip gloss, and maybe a little bit of eyeshadow. After a while let her wear some mascara and then some foundation or concealor. Now i wear foundation, mascara, lip gloss, and sometimes eyeshadow. Make sure that she knows make up is not very important, and is not necessary. She should know that when you are wearing it the point is to be subtle, it should not be that heavy. I would say at 11 she can definently wear a little bit of make up if she is responsible.

Between 13 and 15 is really the best time to allow more make-up like cover-up and such. Maybe if you just got her some lip gloss and light eye shadow that should be fine. but try and explain to her that wearing too much heavy makeup (especially at her age when she is still going through puberty and still growing) it'll block her pores and give her bad skin to wear too much makeup. And she could develope bad acne from it! So just ease into it with her, starting with the lightest makeup (blush, cover up, eye liners, lip liners, even darker lipstick...those should all wait until later!).

im 12 and i started wearing makeup like last year. Its not too young people are just mad bcaz they couldnt wear it. I started off wearing clear mascara and lots of lip gloss. I was never really a fan of blush though.. let her do what she wants. If shes mature then she can make decisions. I recomend avon or even something u find in target. Mascara, eyeliner, eyeshadow, lipgloss, ect

I'm 19 and my parents told me when I could put make up on and look natural with a bit of a pretty glow I could wear make up outside of the house, as for an 11 year old, they do make beginner kits for young girls, they're sheer colours and nothing too bright so she wont look like a clown or anything.
If you let her wear blush go with a soft peach or pink colour, depending on her skin tone, for eyeshadow try a light pink, white, beige/brown colour...just keep it natural since she's so young. since she's mentally mature you dont want her to look psychically mature aswell as that could case some major problems...
as for brands, try NYC, it's in the make up aisle beside the lip smackers (bonnie bell stuff) and it good priced for started!
have a woman who does their make up nicely show her how to do it...or let her look at pictures and try to immitate it....

She is not to young! There is nothing wrong with make-up! It isn't even inappropriate, there is nothing revealing about red lips and purple eyes. (Or whatever the color is, I just put the first colors that came to my mind.) As long as she's not wearing make-up to attract boys or something... I wear make-up because I like it and I like to look good for ME and only ME! I don't wear make-up to look sexy, I do it because I believe that there is great art in a well made-up face. Just make sure she knows that you don't need make-up to be beautiful and that she should not try to attract boys by wearing make-up, she is to young to date, in my opinion at least. (These grade-school romances never work out. LOL) But she probably isn't trying to attract guys anyway. Let her wear make-up! make-up is harmless and fun. She'll probably be disappointed if you don't let her wear make-up. Believe me, she is old enough! My friends and I wear make-up all the time. We put on weird make-up and clothes and go to the mall on special occasions. We have not been hit on or anything for wearing bright make-up, but we looked so weird that a mom was steering her toddler in the opposite direction of us and giving us a dirty look... Well, You learn to live with it, I guess we were asking for it..... Whatever.
So yeah, let her wear make-up, she is definitely old enough!
