My girlfriend claims that i do it often in my sleep and im having a hard time believing it. I have absolutely NO recollection of it but she says that i get loud enough sometimes to wake her out of her sleep!!!! She says it doesnt make her upset but it kinda trips her out bcuz 1, it wakes her up outta her sleep & 2, she doesnt know who or what im dreaming of. It's understandable that she would be worried & I dont want it to get to the point where it does start making her uncomfortable & angry. I wish i knew for a fact that i was dreaming of her so i can ease her mind, but i dont know what im dreaming of cuz i dont ever know im doin it!! What does this mean & is it common?

my gf has told me that i do it quite often i am a cd and i have woken her up many nights stroking.I never remeber or have any recollection of the event. my therapist told me that it is probably some sort of emotional coping strategy that i use. she said sex is soothing so if you have a lost of stress it may come out while sleeping, it is kinda like sleepwalking. the term some one mentioned and could not remember is SEXSOMNIA it is a relatively new field nort much is known because people are usually too embarrassed to talk about it, it can range from simple masturbation to full blown sex all while the person is asleep. i dont think everyone who masturbates in their sleep has this condition . some may but for others it is probably just a stress reducer.

hmmm...i think this is normal. I've often woke up and found myself "humping" (for lack of a better word) my bed, and i've woken up a few times to the bed shaking...and it's my bf and yes thats what he was doing...masturbating in his sleep. It was a little weird at first, and no he has no recollection of it either. i'm sure he isn't always thinking of me either, i mean...i know when i have these hot dreams..it's not always him..or atleast i can't remember who it is either...it's like your body just does what it wants to or something. So i don't get upset and neither does he..it's not like it happens every other night...more like every couple of months. I think it's because you have a very active sex drive....nothing wrong with that! Are you intimate enough with your girlfriend? i wouldn't be concerned...if you really are, ask your doctor. good luck!:)

I just saw something on yahoo news about this like 2 weeks ago. They did a piece on people who 1/2way wake up, have sex with their partners or whatever, and go back to sleep. Damned if I remember the medical term they used.

it's probably as common as sleepwalking if I remember right, but they didn't have an actual idea since some couples might never report it.

It IS natural to become aroused during sleep to the point of erection and ejaculation, but I've never heard of "sleep masturbation". Ask her to set up a video camera while you sleep to prove it to you.

It's normal to in your sleep.
If you and your girlfriend are living together, it could be you are not getting enough sex together for you to masturbate as much as you do. Maybe you need counseling on this matter.

Yah, I think it is normal. I've seen my husband do it tons of time and I've even woke myself up before having an orgasm. Pretty crazy stuff but is true!
