since i was around 13 i noticed that my private area would itch and become swollen on the sides or sometimes i'll just get bumps that swell up and then have puss which eventually burst. it can be painfull and i've been losing hair ever since. one day i took a mirror and when i looked to the side i saw two liitle holes right next to each other and when i squeeze i puss always come out. i was so self conscious about it that i didn't show a doctor until last year. she told me that it was normal and that i couldn't get anything for it. i saw my regular doctor and showed her she said that i couldn't get a prescription to stop this. when i showed her my area she said it looked normal which i diagree with. to me there is area of skin that look damaged and no hair grows there anymore. i think there's more to this and i haven't been to a gynecologist before i'm 18) i just want another opinion on this because i'm tired of going through this pain that always reoccur for the past 5 years help me

I have the same problem (it's not herpes). The medical term for it is folliculitis, commonly know as a boil. It's caused by an infection that grows at the base of the hair follicle. I am a little embarrassed to admit it but I found relief by showering on a daily basis (no bird baths at the sink), switching to an anti-bacterial soap, using a clean wash towel each time I bathe, changing my drying towel 2-3 times a week, and making sure that I wear clean underwear (sometimes changing twice a day). I used to go "COMMANDO" and wear the same pair of pants several times before washing them, but now I have invested in some cotton underwear and change them daily. Check out the website below for more info. They will recommend all kinds of medicines and treatments but good 'ole soap, water, and clean drawers worked best for me.

I would say talk to another physician. As many as possible. This is the first time I've heard of this condition so how normal could it be. Were you having sex when you first noticed or were you a virgin. You need to look into it yourself. Go on the web and research the symptoms on the online medical sites. I will pray with you that there is nothing seriously wrong. Good Luck

It may help to bath in Dial Soap. It has antibacterial. After about a month, all my red bumps were gone. Medicated baby powder helps too. Cortizone cream might help. Sounds like you might need some major medical attention though.

Go to a gyn or urologist. Even though you are only 18 they can still see you and treat you. They see these things all the time and it is routine for them.

Could be herpes given that it comes and goes. FInd doctor you have faith in and ask about that. Sorry you have to worry about this - it's best to get a doctor to diagnosis this though.
