Ok, so I know this question sounds racist, but it's really more of an observation than anything else. When I was in Africa, I visited and lived in six sub-Saharan countries, and I noticed that in every one of these countries, in every village I visited, African men were SOOOO lazy. The women were the ones who did all of the chores, raised the children, cooked, carried water from the well, walked miles to the market to buy groceries and haul them back, etc. The African men simply sat on their @$$e$ on the porch, talking, laughing, and eating, doing nada. African women did ALL of the work..it made me feel so sick. Then, when I come back to the United States, I work with and see sooooo many Black women who take care of the family, pay the bills, etc. while the men in their lives (if they're even around) mooch off of their hard work. I know not all Black men are deadbeats, but sometimes I wonder if Black men being lazy is a cultural thing, maybe carried over from Africa?

You are making a huge generalization. Not all black men are "lazy". Laziness affects people of all races. You probably sit at your computer all day being a slob & posting racist questions on Yahoo Answers. You sound pretty lazy to me.........

I'm a white male transplant living in the south, and let me tell you, racism is alive and well on ALL sides of that coin. White, black, hispanic, asian, it's crazy down here. One good thing I've noticed though, is even if people in minority groups are quick to judge based on color, many of them will rethink their outlook once they see you aren't racist. It's almost like racism is expected and the norm, a sad state really. That being said, I'm not racist. My wife is not white, my child is only partly white. Color means nothing to me, it's all about attitude. Reading your question, I have to say you DO sound a little racist. Not in a negative, hating way, but labeling anything mainstream as "already white" and that's why minorities want their own TV/clubs/etc. is a racist comment. All things mainstream are meant for everyone regardless of color. And wanting race-specific entertainment and clubs is fine! Don't get me wrong. However, while many of you here wouldn't see a problem with white-specific entertainment, if such a thing were to arise (WET, white hsitory month, etc.), there would be a HUGE outcry from many in minority groups. You know that as well as I do. I see no problem with being proud of your heritage at whatever level, as long as everyone else is allowed the same.

I would guess a lot of developing countries are male dominated, which means men do get to spend more hours resting/relaxing. I know in Africa there are gender roles, and men have work only they do i.e. clearing fields, building fencing, etc. It's just there seems to be more work designated to women. Saying they are "lazy" is not really fair. Their societies determined their roles.

What is wrong with you. Have you noticed a lot of countries have not evovled as well at America has, America was like that at one point. Where white people had their wives slaving at the stove, feeding their husbands and only cleaning house. It is like that in many middle eastern countries as well...

The same could be said about any ethnicity. Sure sound racist to me.
I know plenty of AA men AND women who are hard working productive citizens...and plenty of other cultures have the same.
Lazy does NOT have a color...

There has to be something in what you say, although laziness does cross many races. But I have worked in the food industry for many years in different states.
The worst customers, blacks, Jews, native americans
The worst tippers, blacks, Jews, native americans, and retired people
The most harassing, blacks and Jews
The biggest mess left to clean, blacks
The worst kids, blacks
The most arrogant, blacks
The most nit-picking, blacks
The rudest, blacks
The most condescending, blacks
On the flip side, go to a restaurant where you are waited on by a black.
You will be on social security before they take your order
When putting your order together, they have the swiftness of a slug
You get the clear impression that they could care less if you are satisfied with the service.
