I have a laptop and a pc i connected them both to the internet via a wirless g broadband router

what do i have to do to make it possible for direct file transfer instead of wasting cds

are they both using windows? windows file sharing is built in.
mac, linux , and others each have their own way.

to do it in a cross platform way, you need one machine to act as an ftp host. and the rest act as a client.

Enable file and print sharing on both PCs or the PC you wish to share. This can be done by opening network properties and clicking the add button. Once its enabled, you will find a sharing tab in your folder menus. To share a folder, click the share and set it up! You can share the entire drive in my computer also.

Turn on printer and File sharing on both of the computers. Then what I do is designate one folder to be shared on the network and copy my files to that. Its more time consuming, but it helped me keep track of the files I was moving.

configure the wireless ip address and the pc
they my be in this format.
192.168.1.100 laptop
192.168.1.102 pc
follow this example.
